Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(May 4, 2019)

MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 6:00pm by our Club President, Ted Knapp at the Round Table Pizza in Burien, WA.

ATTENDENCE:
June’s Club meeting was attended by 24 members.

GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
A new member, Kevin Groesbeck attended his first Club Meeting.

SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella presented the May Secretaries Report, reading the notes that were taken at the April Club Meeting, which were also posted on the Club website.

TREASURES REPORT:
Tom Willett presented the May Treasures Report and provided financial details for the period of April 1, 2019 thru April 30, 2019.  

CORRESPONDENCE:
Wally Santella reported that there was no club correspondence for the month of April.
GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH:
There was no guest speaker of the month for April.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Tigers on the Columbia: 
Wally and Ted provided an update on the status of preparations for this year’s Tigers on the Columbia.  Ted reported that he visited the Goat Herd of Oregon and gave a presentation on our 2019 Tigers on the Columbia plans.  Wally reported that he visited the Western Washington Firebirds and gave a presentation our 2019 Tigers on the Columbia plans.  Wally provided a current count of 49 people and 33 cars for the Dairy Queen Cruise, 71 people for the Award Banquet, 28 people for the Yakima to Ellensburg Picnic/Cruise and 10 people for the Water2Wine Dinner Cruise.  Ted pressed our members who have not registered yet, to register, as we are behind the registration numbers for the same time last year.  Wally landed the following sponsors for this year’s event: Richard’s Car Corner, Ames Performance Engineering, Griot’s Garage, AccuTran Transmissions, Pacific Auto Machine, KD Knapp Development.  Wally emphasized the front gate will open at 8:00am on Saturday in Howard Amon Park for the Car Show.  Wally also explained that we will open for Registration Check-in on Friday at 12:00pm thru 5:00pm and on Saturday from 8:00am thru 12:00pm.

OLD BUSINESS:
2019 Membership Update:  
Wally Santella appraised the attending membership that we are currently at 100 “active” members.
Scholarship Update:  Tom Willett suggested to the attending membership that there is an interest in having a couple of representatives with an update on our scholarship efforts to-date, stating that the 
National Update:  Ted Knapp asked the attending membership who is planning to attend this year’s GTOAA Nationals in Lynchburg, Indiana.  Stephen Martin and Bill Nelson are planning to go.
Legends Magazine – John Lund’s Status – John is still recovering from pneumonia with about 30% of his lung power.  It does not look like he will be able to go to Tigers on the Columbia.
Drag Racing Gary Tischer – Ted asked Gary Tischer if there has been any update on our attempts to get some drag racing for this summer.  Gary has nothing definite yet.

NEW BUSINESS:
This Year’s Xmas Party –
 Bob Wise has found a good place in Burien for our 2019 Club Xmas Party.  He also recommended a caterer to prepare the food. 
July Club Meeting –
Tom Willett announced that we will be having our July Club Meeting at Jim Blodgett’s house on the east side of Kent.
Historic Auto Races – Tom Willett is urging are members to attend this event on July 7th.
Mercer Island Festible – Tom Willett is also uring our members to attend this event on Sunday, July 14th.
2019 Tigers on the Columbia – This year’s event is scheduled for May 24 thru 26th.
GTOAA National Convention – This year’s event is scheduled for June 25th thru the 29th, in Lawrenceburg, IN.
POCI All Pontiac Show – This year’s event is scheduled for July 20th at Griot’s Garage.
XXX Muscle Car Meet – This year’s event is scheduled for August 11th at the XXX Drive-In in Issaquah.
Pontiac Picnic in the Park – This year’s event is scheduled for August 24th, at Mud Mountain Dam in Enumclaw.
Western Washington Firebirds All Pontiac Show – This year’s event is scheduled for August 18th, at McCollum Park in Everett.
Griot’s American Muscle Car Show – This year’s event is schedule for Sunday, September 8th, at Griot’s Garage in Tacoma.
Christmas Banquet/Awards – This year’s event is scheduled for December 7th, at the Elks in Burien.

OTHER POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES:
– Car Cruises
– Nothing definite yet from Bill Nelson and Greg Amundson
– Slot Car Racing – Greg Amundson talked about how much fun it was.
– Tour of Private Car Collection – JP may be able to help with this.
– Detail Clinic at Tigers on the Columbia – Guy Devivo says he needs to hire more people before he can go to TOTC.
– Safety Car Inspection Event – Wally says we need date and location.

SHOP TALK:
No shop talk for this meeting.

50/50 RAFFLE:
Greg Amundson won $52 in the 50/50 Raffle and $52 went to the Club. 

MEETING ADJORNED:
The club’s business meeting adjourned at 7:45pm by our President, Ted Knapp.  Our next meeting will be at the Round Table Pizza in Burien on June 1st, 2019, at 6:00pm.
