Northwest Legends Club Meeting Minutes
(May 5, 2018)
MEETING OPENED:
Meeting called to order at 6:10 pm by our Club President, Ted Knapp at the Round Table Pizza in Burien, WA.
ATTENDENCE:
April’s Club meeting was attended by 23 members.
GUESTS & NEW MEMBERS:
No guests and/or new members attended May’s Club Meeting.
SECRETARIES REPORT:
Wally Santella read the meeting minutes from the Cub’s April meeting, which were prepared by Tom Willett and May’s Club meeting minutes will be posted to our Website.
TREASURES REPORT:
Tom Willett provided the 2018 May’s Treasurer’s Report ending April 30, 2018 and provided details for the Club’s 3 bank accounts.
CORRESPONDENCE:
There was no Club correspondence for the May Club Meeting.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
DONATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE – Tom Willett updated the membership on the status of the effort to incorporate policies that will guide the Club on the process of providing donations to worthy recipients. The Donations Subcommittee has received 21 affirmative responses to the emailing of a “Club Ballot” that was sent out, approving these policies to be added to our Club By-Laws.
2018 TIGERS ON THE COLUMBIA (TOTC) – Ted Knapp, along with Wally Santella and John Lund, provided the last update on our preparations for the 2018 Tigers on the Columbia event. Ted stated that he is looking into using a local (a company in Richland) to provide projector and sound equipment that will be needed for the event. Ted provided a quick reminder of the activities that are planned, confirming that we expect 13 couples for the Water2Wine Dinner Cruise and for those who do not go on the Dinner Cruise, high interest in the Dairy Queen Cruise that will be led by Don Myers. John and Wally confirmed that our Registration count at May 5th, was 61, including 60 registered cars. A discussion was raised about when to shut off online Pre-Registration. A decision was made by the attendees to turn off online Pre-Registration 7 days before the car show event, on Saturday, May 25th. All registrations after that will be conducted at the event, starting at 12:00pm on Friday, May 25th thru 5:00pm and then again on Saturday, from 7:00am thru 12:00pm at the Post-Registration cost of $40/registration. Ted reminded that attendees that trailer parking will be facilitated at the south portion of the Shilo Inn and that Tom Willett will be staying in his camper at the Shilo parking lot and will look after things. Ted updated the attendees on the fact that the Jet Boat Tour on the Columbia activity will be cancelled as the company providing this service seems to have gone out of business. The Winery Tours will be held on Sunday and the Little Red Trolley will pick up folks that signed up for this event at both the Shilo Inn and Marriott Courtyard at 2:00pm Ted also reminded everyone that there would be a last get together at Lulu’s Kitchen afterwards for dinner.
OLD BUSINESS
No old business items were discussed at the May Club meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Wally Santella made a motion for the Club to donate $100 to the Pontiac Oakland Museum by sponsoring one of the 23 classes at the 7th Annual GTOAA Pontiac Museum Regional, which will be held on September 15-16th, 2018, as the Club did last year. The attending membership passed the motion and approved the donation for this year.
SHOP TALK
Richard Sargent talked about his efforts to get his 1967 Pontiac Catalina Station Wagon ready for the 2018 Tigers on the Columbia event. Richard will make an effort to secure and old school wooden surf board to top it off with.
Wally Santella provided a brief review of his 68 GTO Convertible restoration. Wally stated that the car is 6th on a list of 26 convertibles waiting for top replacement at Convertibles Only on 4th Ave in Seattle, which will place it somewhere in the middle of July.
50/50 Raffle: A 50/50 raffle was held and no, Delores Forsyth did not win!!
But, Richard Sargent did, and won $60, which he donated to the Club along with the Club’s portion of the raffle, which was another $61.
MEETING ADJORNED:
The Club’s Business Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm, by our President, Ted Knapp. Our next meeting will be at the Round Table Pizza in Burien on June 2nd, 2018, at 6:00pm.
