GUEST SPEAKER OF THE MONTH:

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

2021 TIGERS ON THE COLUMBIA (TOTC) update – Wally Santella reported that the event is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2022. The car show committee is setting plans in place to hold the event as usual.

2021 EVENTS – Wally reported that the Cruise In to the XXX Root Beer in Issaquah on August 8th (in lieu of the traditional Northwest Muscle Car Meet) had approximately 20 cars in attendance. It was decided to do a cruise instead of a full blown car show due to the close proximity to the Reunion Convention in July. The annual Picnic in the Park at Mud Mountain Dam was not held this year due to scheduling problems with the park, As a substitute, Ted Knapp invited the club to his home in Gig Harbor on August 28th, where we enjoyed a fantastic bbq lunch and potluck put on by Ted. It was a picture perfect day to spend with fellow club members.

2021 Christmas Party – Bill Nelson reported that he was working on a new very exciting location to possibly host the Christmas party, as Merrill Gardens, the venue used in 2019, is not available this year due to Covid restrictions. More details will be announced at the October meeting. As a lessons learned note, it was discussed that a nominal charge should be in place for events that require club expenditure to support, so that attendance can be better estimated.

OLD BUSINESS:
Bill Nelson
again thanked David and Melinda Gale for their excellent work on the newsletter and extra club notices during our year of pandemic-related lack of club meetings and car events. Their hard work and dedication made up for the lack of in person meetings.

NEW BUSINESS:

Future Club meetings – Those in attendance agreed that the new area at Roundtable Pizza is a suitable location, however, it is slightly smaller than the previous meeting room. There is also no screen to project club information on, so that could be an issue.

50/50 RAFFLE:   There was no 50/50 raffle this month.

SHOP TALK: There was no shop talk.

MEETING ADJOURNED:
The club’s business meeting adjourned at 7:25pm by our President, Bill Nelson. Our next business meeting will be on October 2nd at the Roundtable Pizza in Burien.
