COMMITTEE REPORTS:

2023 Events – Bill Nelson and Wally reported that all dates for regularly scheduled events next year have been confirmed. The dates will be posted in the newsletter and the website. The dates are: Tigers on the Columbia: May 25-28 in Wenatchee; Muscle Car Show at Griot’s: June 25; Muscle Car Meet at XXX: Aug 6; Picnic at Ted’s: Aug 19.

New possible events are a cruise to the Port Angeles area to view Gary Parrish’s car collection. Bob Stevenson and Steve Martin met Gary at Rod Run this year and talked extensively with him about his cars. Bill Nelson reminded the members that Binford’s holds a cruise in every Friday night from 4-10 in their grass field south of Auburn during the summer. They feature live bands, food trucks and a burn-out pad. It was also mentioned that there are numerous cruises in Puyallup, Sumner and Enumclaw as well. Bill would like to emphasize events at every meeting next year, so if members know of events in their area, please bring whatever details you have to the meeting, and we will bring them up.

GTOAA Convention in 2025: Ted Knapp talked to Tom Oxler from GTOAA about our club hosting the national convention in 2025. Tom gave Ted the requirements they are looking for and they talked about various venues and locations. GTOAA has retained a firm to locate potential venues and cities that meet their needs. Spokane was mentioned, however, Ted reiterated that support from our club would be difficult due to the distance. GTOAA needs approximately 35 volunteers from the local club to help during the event, and free passes to the convention would be available. This year’s national convention resulted in about $3000 – $4000 to the local club.

OLD BUSINESS:

Bill Nelson reported that the Christmas party will be December 10th at Merrill Gardens in Burien. We will be using the same caterer as last year.

NEW BUSINESS:

Bill Nelson gave a year in review, highlighting the events from the past year and thanking all of those involved in putting them on and those attending.

David Gale reported that Melinda was injured at home and is recovering. The club will send flowers.

2022 Officer Elections – Nominations are open for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Wally nominated the current slate of officers and they all accepted. A revision to the Bylaws was proposed by the Board and will be voted on by the members at the November meeting. This change will move the election to the November meeting instead of having it during the Awards Banquet/Christmas party. It was felt that it was difficult to hold the election during the party and that the party should concentrate on being a social event.
