Wally Santella provided some updates on the Tigers on the Columbia event. Our goal is to have 50% of our members attend. As of this meeting date, 87 cars are registered with 97 total registrations along with 160 room nights. Sales of event t-shirts is 89 and 123 meals have been reserved. We have 88 people and 44 cars signed up for the Friday car cruise and 30 for the Sunday dinner. Bill Nelson reported that the Thursday cruise to the event will leave from the truck stop on I-90 at 10am, and then stop in Cle Elum for lunch (location TBD). A third stop will be on the north side of Blewitt Pass at The Rock House. Charles Stumpel will be the Friday cruise leader, leaving from the same place and at the same time as Thursday’s. Charles will also conduct the 50/50 raffle.
There was no old business to discuss.
A motion was proposed and a passing vote was taken to hold Tigers on the Columbia in Wenatchee in 2025.
Our NW Muscle Car Show will be held at Griot’s Garage on June 25th. All necessary arrangements have been made and volunteers notified.
Bill Nelson introduced the topic of how raffle winners are determined and notified and it was determined that we need to create some procedures on how to conduct raffles, whether it is the 50/50, silent auction, or raffle prize giveaways.
Steve Ferkovich was recognized for his 60 years of leadership and involvement in the ski patrol, with a majority of it at Crystal Mountain Ski Area in Washington state. A special plaque was presented to Steve from the club. The club is proud to recognize Steve for his tireless efforts in the community and with NW GTO Legends.
Jim Wangers passed away in April and a special memorial will be held at the Petersen Car Museum in California on Saturday, June 10th from 9am to noon. It will be live streamed and should be available either through facebook or YouTube.
Mark Neary also passed away recently. He was a long time member of the Goat Herd of Oregon and was known for having spare parts for many years of GTOs. On July 22nd, Mark’s collection of parts will be available for sale. More details to follow.
Next month’s meeting will be held on July 8th, because of the 4th of July holiday.
